Sandvik Coromant introduces a safe and efficient cut-off system with a plug and play coolant connector
On March 3, Sandvik Coromant introduced the CoroCut QD, a safe and reliable cutting system for deep groove and large overhanging cutting. The newly expanded blade and tool product range features up-feed and down-feed coolant nozzles. In addition, the system is equipped with a plug and play type connector, which is easy to clamp and makes the coolant supply efficient and adequate.
For manufacturers using bar feed lathes, process safety, combined with good chip control and long and reliable tool life, is the key to efficient production. To meet these needs, CoroCut QD combines robust blade design and blade material technology with rigid clamping and efficient coolant supply.
Chip control with simple coolant attachment
The key to longer tool life and reduced machine downtime is good chip control. We have solved this problem by using a combination of upfeed and downfeed coolants on all tools to keep the cutting edges cooler, resulting in less tool wear and more stable performance, while making chip removal more efficient.
Combine this with a simple and quick plug and play connector and a highly rigid and easy-to-use blade clamping mechanism, and you have a reliable cutting system - the CoroCut QD. Not only does the system ensure safe processing, but it is also easy to clamp, allowing you to achieve real processing efficiency.
Durable knives
The cutting force at the cutting edge is high. In order to meet this challenge, we not only used a tool material with high fatigue resistance, but also designed a stop mechanism on the blade holder to fix the clamping position of the blade, so that the blade holder can be replaced to prevent wear. In addition, the specially developed blades themselves have excellent coating adhesion and high edge line safety, ensuring a longer tool life during each cutting process.
The system is based on the mature Q-Cut and CoroCut series, which, when first introduced in October 2013, gives these cutting processes a greater choice.
